Kara Summers Steele, CPA

Kara Steele was born in Iredell County and is a graduate of North Iredell High School. After high school, Kara attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance before obtaining her CPA license.

With more than 20 years of experience in the accounting profession, Kara brings deep technical knowledge and a practical, client-focused approach to every engagement. She began her public accounting career with the firm and later with Dixon, Hughes, Goodman, LLP. After welcoming her two children, Baylee and Bryson, Kara transitioned to working locally for Iredell-Statesville Schools, while continuing to stay connected to public accounting by assisting the firm during tax seasons. She re-joined the firm full-time in 2019 and now focuses on accounting advisory services, tax preparation, planning, and projections for individuals and businesses—helping clients stay ahead of tax law changes and make confident financial decisions year-round.

Kara resides in Northern Iredell County, where her children stay busy with numerous sporting activities. She is an active member of Christ Church in Statesville. When Kara isn’t supporting her children on the basketball court, soccer field, or the track, she loves doing anything outdoors—especially hiking!

Becky is a native of Statesville, North Carolina, and a graduate of Statesville Senior High School. She earned both a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Accountancy from Gardner-Webb University before becoming a licensed Certified Public Accountant. Her strong academic foundation and commitment to the profession have been central to her career in public accounting.

Becky began her career with a local CPA firm before joining the firm in 2004. With more than two decades of experience, she provides comprehensive accounting, tax and advisory services to individuals, families, estates, trusts and closely held businesses. Becky takes a proactive, thoughtful approach to tax planning, helping clients make informed decisions while navigating complex and ever-changing tax laws. She values long-term client relationships and is committed to delivering practical guidance, responsive service, and clear communication.

Becky and her husband, Jonathan, live in northern Iredell County with their three children, Emma, William, and Jenna. They are active members of Grassy Knob Baptist Church in Union Grove, North Carolina. Outside of work, Becky enjoys spending time with her family, cheering on her children at sporting events, enjoying the outdoors, and traveling together.
